On the frontlines during the heated battles of World War 1--what did our soldiers eat when the firing stopped? How did they prepare their food in such rough and war-torn terrain?
Richard Spilman, education coordinator at DCC, will host a special Dutch oven recipes workshop where these questions, and more, will be answered. But in addition to that, participants will have the opportunity to actually prepare two traditional World War 1 recipes: maconochie stew and trench cake. And, you'll dine on it afterwards! come and experinece first hand what wartime foods were like for U.S. soldiers, including those from the Arkansas Delta.
Registration is free but pre-registration is required for this workship. You may register now until 5 p.m., on October 18, 2018. The public is invited. Youth age 13 and above are welcomed. Those under age 13 must be accompanyed and supervised by a parent, or other adult guardian.
