Much of today's perceptions of the flu are shaped by the images we see on television's over-the-counter cold and flu remedies which promise to ease our fever, aching and sneezing. This dumbing, down of the harsh realities of the flu have caused us to forget how unselectively cruel and catastrophic this disease has been in the past.
Join historian Tim Nutt who will share the grim reality of what this deadly outbreak was really like, and how State and City medical officials confronted it. Nutt is the director of the Historical Research Center at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
