Sneak Peek: Moore Hornor House Preview Opening

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the DCC prepares for the upcoming community preview of the historic Moore-Hornor House. Located at 323 Beech Street, in Helena, the free event is slated for Thursday, September 17, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., and will include live entertainment. In case of rain, this limited engagement will be held the following week-- Thursday, September 24—also from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. A grand reopening celebration will be hosted in the spring of 2021.
Built in 1859, the Moore-Hornor is a stunning example of asymmetrical Greek Revival and Italianate architecture. This sneak preview marks the home’s return to its rightful role as history-teller, ready to share with visitors a view of Helena’s past and a way of life that was uniquely that of the Arkansas Delta.
As a public health and safety precaution, visitors will be required to follow social distancing guidelines. In compliance with these guidelines, the number of guests will also be limited.
