Developed within the context of the 1960s civil rights movement\, this dramatic stage play was written by local students\, ages 12 to 18 years as participants of the DCC's Youth Arts Summer Camp workshop. The youth will perform their work as a free event streamed live online. The public is invited to tune in to \nFacebook.com/DeltaCulturalCenter\n\, Thursday\, August 6\, at 6 p.m.\, to watch the performance.\n\nThese young artists will also perform songs from the civil rights era.\n\nSet in 1963 Helena\, the play recalls a time in the history of the Arkansas Delta and the nation when protests against social injustices revolutionized the nation-- even in Helena\, Arkansas\, when protests were all afoot. The play centers on the sit-in at was then Henry's Drug Store and Soda Fountain in the heart of downtown Helena.
