About Us

Arkansas Learning Through The Arts (ALTTA) was formed in Garland Co. in March 2012 to provide quality arts learning experiences to all Arkansas students, focusing on under-served schools in rural communities. In 2016, it became an affiliate of Young Audiences Arts for Learning. ALTTA's programs integrate fine arts with language arts and social studies in regular classrooms. Over the past nine years, the organization has served 30,000 students in 1,250 classrooms from Pre-K through high school by offering 50+ programs tied to Arkansas Dept. of Ed. literacy curriculum.
The mission of Arkansas Learning Through the Arts (ALTTA) is to improve student achievement by integrating cultural arts into the educational experience in order to ignite students' interest in learning. The organization offers programming that:
* changes the mindset of students for learning
* offers arts experiences that are not readily available to schools and
* demonstrates a lasting model for creative teaching.
In 2019, ALTTA decided to expand beyond Central Arkansas and that the Arkansas Delta would be a good fit. Seven schools initially scheduled programs and additional ones are in the process of doing so.
