SUMMARY:Delta Cultural Center: Grand Opening! A Showcase of Delta Landscapes
DESCRIPTION:he Delta Cultural Center is pleased to present the original works of artists from throughout the Delta region who call Arkansas home! The grand opening of one of the Center's most alluring exhibits yet\, entitled "The Painted Delta: Artistic Expressions of the Alluvial Plain\," is Saturday\, Feb. 9\, at the Delta Cultural Center\, 141 Cherry Street\, in Helena\, at 4 p.m. Admission is free.\n\n\n\nMost of the artist who have contributed to this exhibit are self-taught\, or have minimal formal training. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised by the leisurely rather than somber -- tone that these works evoke. Most interestingly\, they also depict a genuine authenticity given that the artists created these portraits strictly through sight and personal experience.\n\n\n\nDrew Ulrich\, the DCC curator\, will introduce the exhibit as well as the attending artists. A wine and hors d'oeuvre reception will follow this brief program. Guests who attend the opening will have the opportunity to engage with the artists and curator. Both are looking forward to answering questions that the public may have about this exhibit\, as well as discussing more informally\, the impressive body of artwork that will be displayed. \n\n\n\nWhile the exhibit's grand opening is a one-day event\, the exhibit will be on display through June 12\, 2019.
